Hi, I’m Jo, interiors writer and content creator.

I have been working within the Interior Design world for over 25 years and began life working at DIY monthly, Practical Householder Magazine.

I went on to work at Bella Magazine as part of the homes team way back when Interior design for everyone (not just the very rich) was just emerging and paint effects were all the rage. You can blame me for the stencils in that downstairs loo you had back in the 90’s and for the colour washing of every wall…

I became a freelance writer when I had my three children and wrote for Prima, Best, Bella, various B2B titles and part works. Between 2014 -2018 I moved to Singapore with my family where I continued to freelance including co-writing two books on Singapore Architecture. I also wrote and published A Positive Result – a book about parenting a child with Down Syndrome.

Since returning from Asia I have jumped back in to the world of Interior Design with both feet; completing a diploma in Interior Design.

I have continued to write as the regular interiors expert for Essex Living and Aspire Essex. I also write blogs and create social media content for a number of interior design related businesses and marketing agencies.
