Ysanne Brooks is an experienced editor and writer. Her career in interiors journalism started almost 20 years ago as a freelancer at the, then, quarterly 25 Beautiful Kitchens. After a stint as Chief Sub and then Associate Editor, in 2004 she took over as Editor of 25 Beautiful Kitchens, which was then bi-monthly. During her nine years as editor she successfully spearheaded several redesigns, changes in format, an increased frequency to 10 issues a year and even a name change. Since leaving Beautiful Kitchens in 2013, she has worked as a freelance editor and writer on a variety of subjects. Her work to date includes a number of editing projects for Ideal Home, including an Ideal Home Guide to Christmas and several kitchen and bathroom supplements. Other projects have included advertising promotional material for companies including VitrA and Rangemaster and product testing for idealhome.co.uk. When she’s not working on bigger projects, she turns her hand to writing features for several national magazines on a broad range of subjects including readers’ homes, large and small appliances, kitchen and bathroom planning, seasonal trends and news and shopping.
